Lately I've been opening up the last boxes from moving in at home. One box had all the refrigerator postits, photos, sayings, and etc. from my old place. One that I love is a newspaper photo, from a stage performance, of an acrobat in a position that seems to violate the laws of physics. Here it is:

I'm hoping to appear at an upcoming kickoff function for one of my clients. At an early planning meeting, I made sure to suggest useful content and activities illustrating the link between leadership and the creative process. That's my specialty, and I assumed it would be the client's main interest. When I was finished describing my suggested approach, my client looked at me and said with a disappointed look on his face: "But you're going to play one of your compositions on the violin aren't you?"

The other day I went to see Bill, a chiropractor highly recommended by my wife. I'm having a persistent problem with the fingers of my left hand (not great for a violin player) that he's helping me with. I want to tell you about my experience with one of his machines, because it has a lot of relevance to the experience of initiating change in the workplace.
